What's New

4/13/08  We recently observed our first anniversary on the internet and celebrated by expanding and updating the music library--a celebration which is ongoing!  In addition to adding tunes we didn't have, we replaced a few we did have with better-sounding copies.   The number of songs scheduled for rotation passed 5000 some time ago, not counting another 200 or so songs which exist in the library only for the sake of whomever might request them....

2/6/08  Hello iTunes listeners!  Lakeshore Radio is now listed on iTunes Radio--in the Pop category.

1/18/08:  Remember that network "dropouts" (an interruption in the stream from our studio to Live365) typically last less than a minute.  If the broadcast should stop for no reason, just hit Play again.  If you get a recording...well...try again again.  :)   Thankfully dropouts are rare, but they do occur, so just don't give up trying to connect.

8/27/07:  You now have two chances to catch our various features each weekday.  Earth & Sky and Into Tomorrow now repeat in the late morning/early afternoon while The Computer Guys have an additional run in the morning.

7/22/07:  Doomsday for net radio came and went last week and we're still on the air--but the withering nature of ongoing negotiations between the labels and stations while the crippling rates of the CRB now are officially in force leave little doubt that passage of the Internet Radio Equality Act is the only solution to provide long-term viability to net radio that the music industry can profit from.  Profit quite handsomely in fact at 7.5 percent of stations' revenue for the sound recording royalty payment alone.

Current hits from Snow Patrol, Plain White T's and The Goo Goo Dolls join the previously added new Paul McCartney tune to provide a greater variety to the '07 all-hit playlist.  We continue to add golden oldies too!

7/4/07:   A celebration of both Independence day and the 20th anniversary of Lakeshore Radio.  What better way to mark the occasion than expand the music library?  Original recordings of Chubby Checker's hits were the highlight of a marathon session which also included the addition of all the hits of Pablo Cruise and at least two each of Chambers Brothers, Beau Brummels, Billy J. Kramer and even The Smashing Pumpkins.

 6/26/07  ________________________________________________

6/25/07:   We now have all the hits of both the Little River Band and Boz Scaggs, two long overdue additions.   Also listen for added Smokey/Miracles and Chicago tunes.  We even added Bon Jovi's latest to the '07 All-Hit Playlist.

Don't hesitate to suggest further additions!

Like, sometime earlier:  The music library is still growing!  Recently we added a number of (sometimes Young) Rascals tunes, so now we have all of their singles which made top 40...and even a few that didn't!

Other adds include songs from such diverse artists as Paul McCartney, Dion, Louis Armstrong, Sugar Ray, Heart and Matt Bulthouse.  And we're not done...
